Subway, Hot and Fresh?

I was researching the “worst logos” lists that traverse the internet. When looking I realized one company was on many of the lists, Subway. They advertise using fresh ingredients to create delicious, fresh cold and hot sub sandwiches, but their logo doesn’t express this in my opinion. Their newer logo also attempts to incorporate directional elements to nod to subway trains and stations, but at this point people know the brand well enough to put two and two together. I feel they should move from this and focus on their food.

I attempted to recreate the logo with changes. I added a vector element to the A to express their freshness (via a leaf) and their hot subs (via a flame). I also added some cool tones to the extreme yellow in SUB to push the vegetation elements of their products, as I don’t feel the yellow is appetizing, nor expressing their hot menu items.
